OxySense® is the first non-invasive oxygen measurement system for sealed packages. It is tailored for the needs of the food, beverage, and pharmaceutical industries. The system is unique not only for its ability to measure oxygen non-invasively, but also for its ability to measure oxygen in headspace as well as in dissolved liquids. It is an optical system that can measure oxygen concentration within packages that are transparent, semi-transparent, and translucent; and as long as the packaging material can transmit blue and red light (at approximately 470nm and 610nm respectively), a measurement can be made.
The oxygen measurement technique is based upon the fluorescence quenching of a metal organic fluorescent dye immobilized in a gas permeable hydrophobic polymer. The dye absorbs light in the blue region and fluoresces within the red region of the spectrum. The presence of oxygen quenches the fluorescent light from the dye as well as its lifetime. The quenching process is a purely collisional dynamic where the energy from the excited fluorescent dye is transferred to the oxygen molecule during a collision, hence, reducing the emission intensity as well as the fluorescent lifetime of the dye.

The O2xyDot TM is the oxygen sensor that is placed in the package before it is filled and sealed. This dot is addressed from the outside of the package via the fiber optic pen to make oxygen measurements without penetrating the package.
O2xyDotTM :
- Is 5 mm in diameter with a thickness of 0.2 mm.
- Allows multiple measurements on the same package.
- Has detection limits of 15 ppb in water and 0.03% in gas.
- Is totally passive, it does not interfere with contents of the package and does not consume oxygen.
- Is suitable for measuring oxygen both in the gas and liquids.
- Is a robust low cost sensor that can be used on a disposable basis.
- Is mechanically stable and can be sterilized and go through pasteurization process without losing calibration.
- Can be used in oil water or gas.
- Is independent of pH (2-12) and salt concentrations.
- Is not affected by other gases.

Our base model offers the ideal solution for conducting non-invasive or invasive measurements in oil, water or air. The OxySense® GEN III 325i, which requires a computer interface, will perform most of the functions of the 5250i series including non-invasive headspace analysis for packages, bottles and blister packs; package material and design evaluation; closure design and evaluation; MAP production start up monitoring; research and development; QC and assurance, as well as product oxidation studies.
The OxySense GEN III 325i is particularly ideal for smaller labs, companies considering bringing their oxygen testing requirements in-house for the first time and companies looking for a low-cost solution for studies. |

The OxySense GEN III 5250i , part of OxySense’s newest line of non-invasive oxygen monitoring and permeation systems, is the oxygen measurement instrument of choice for labs and individuals who need to test or evaluate bottles, packages and other packaging materials through a variety of studies.
The stand alone system can be used for non-invasive and invasive measurements in oil, water and air, and also perform permeability analysis (OTR) for film, bottles and “live” packages.
The GEN III 5250i incorporates all the unique capabilities of the current OxySense System line, with an array of NEW features from a slant-top, touch screen display operation to expanded temperature measurement range and real time graphical and test log display. The GEN III line products all comply with ASTM 2714-08 standards. |

OxySentry System: Inline Oxygen Monitoring Control Sytem
The OxySentry™ System is specifically designed to monitor the oxygen in MAP chambers. It is an easy, accurate, and low-cost method for conducting leak testing of modified atmosphere packaging (MAP) in harsh environments (such as the manufacturing floor). |

|
The GEN III OxyOTR™ system is an add-on to the unique OxySense® GEN III 5000 solution, and offers accurate and timely oxygen transmission rate (OTR) testing for films, bottles and finished packages at a price well below that of dedicated permeation systems available in the market today.
It is the ideal solution for labs wanting to expand their OTR and oxygen measurement capabilities and capacity without breaking their budget.
With the GEN III OxyOTR™ system, users are able to conduct an unlimited number of permeation tests on films, bottles and finished packages, simultaneously. And now, for the first time, you can even test “live” (filled with real product on real lines) packages.
And with the emphasis on improvements in package cost/performance, this new resource can be your solution!
